Vastly different from his previous relelease Specimens has created a more traditionally ambient released, whilst eschewing most of the more cliched elements of the genre.
The overall feel is sombre; the tonality shaped by long, droning notes that either rub against aural counterpoints - creating a sense of conflict or tension, or echo against the surrounding silence.

Not the oddest jazz experiments I've ever heard, but definitely among the most listenable and satisfying. Just turn this on for a bit and ignore it in the corner, within no time the bizarrely syncopated machinery will have your head nodding in ways it never has. Be sure to stretch first. Lost Tribe Sound
